Me and mace have been filming stuff together since he started the calamity cam YouTube page years ago but at the start of the year we really started getting more stuff and by February we thought we may have enough for some kind of edit I guess?
Things were looking bleak at the end of last year, not just for me but for everyone. No one really knew what was going on with the pandemic in this country and there seemed to be no end in sight.
It really hit me that skateboarding’s not about what you can or can’t do or what people you don’t really know think about you, it’s about the people you meet along the way and the friendships that see us through those bleak times. Without some of those friends i would’ve been completely lost this year and I’m lucky to have had people in my corner.
I don’t think skating will solve all your problems but I think collectively through all your mates that skate you’re more than likely to find a helping hand, someone to listen, or someone to tell you straight which will set you on the way to feeling right again.
We never set out to film something we were just filming like when we were kids and just egging each other on to do stuff and it just went from there.
